- For implementation & enhancement of its power transmission and distribution.
5. EU ( European Union) Withdrawal Bill passed in British Parliament
- The 1972 European Communities Act which took the UK into the then European.
- Economic Community, will get repealed by this bill.
- Now the bill has to pass second test.
6. Sri Lankan Deputy Tourism Minister Arundika Fernando sacked by President Maithripala Sirisena
- Reason- He was allegedly defying the party leadership.
- Commercial Capital of Sri Lanka = Colombo ( Also the largest city).

1. The International Day for Preservation of Ozone Layer ( World Ozone Day)= 16th September
- Theme for 2017 = ‘Caring for all life under the sun’.
- Why on 16th Sept?? = To commemorate the date in 1987 on which the Montreal Protocol was signed on substances that deplete the ozone layer.
