The GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) 2020 has arrived and registrations have started on 2nd Sept’19. smartgate Introduction GATE 2020 Exam is going to be conducted by IIT Delhi on multiple dates in the month of February 2020. The candidates have to register at GOAPS (GATE Online Application Processing System). The Aspirants will also be given option to make corrections in GATE 2020 Application form. To check the status of GATE 2020 Application, candidates have to login with enrolment ID and password obtained after registration. The Last date to submit the GATE 2020 Application Form is 24th September 2019 which may extend up to 1st October 2019.   What is GATE & Why? GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is a national level entrance examination which is jointly conducted by IISC Bangalore and seven IIT’s (namely IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee) on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB)-GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), and Government of India. The operation related to GATE is segregated into eight zones and each of eight zones is administered by a Zonal GATE office at administering institute (IIT or IISc).     Documents required for GATE 2020 Application form The candidates must ensure that they are ready with the following documents before starting GATE 2020 Registration:

  New changes introduced in GATE 2020 Exam Some new exciting changes have been introduced in GATE 2020 Exam which is listed below:

  1. Addition of new paper Biomedical in GATE 2020.
  2. Candidates can choose two centres from the same zone while the third centres can’t be picked up from the same zone. The GATE exam will be held in the international cities also, these are: Dubai (UAE), Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Colombo (Sri Lanka), Dhaka (Bangladesh), Kathmandu, (Nepal) and Singapore.

  1. 1/3 marks will be deducted for the wrong answers i.e. (0.33) marks for 1 mark questions and (0.66) marks will be deducted for questions carrying 2 marks.

GATE 2020 Exam Syllabus: The GATE 2020 Exam syllabus is different for each subject. There are 25 subjects/papers for which GATE 2020 Exam will be organized. The details which can be modified after submitting the GATE 2020 application form are:

  1. Photograph & Signature.
  2. Document related to category status.
  3. Communication Address, Graduation Details, Date of Birth, Gender and Category.

The candidate after submitting the GATE 2020 application form cannot modify E-mail Id, Phone number & Paper attending for GATE 2020. GATE Application Status: Under Scrutiny, if the status of your application is “Under Scrutiny”, you need not worry. Wait till the scrutiny team processes your application. Only those candidates whose applications need to be rectified in photo/signature/supporting documents will be contacted by email and SMS. The scrutiny process will continue even after the application portal is closed. Forgot enrolment ID or password? A situation can be formed where a candidate misplace/forgot GATE 2020 application enrolment ID or password. Such candidate need not to worry about the login procedure, they can access their application by following simple steps:

  1. Request for an OTP If you remember the Enrolment ID/Email Address, but forgotten Password, click on “Request for an OTP” to get One Time Password.
  2. Provide your registered mobile number and Enrolment ID/Email Address. Click on Reset Password to obtain a new one.
  3. Already have an OTP? If you already have an OTP, click on “Already have an OTP?” to reset the password. Already have an OTP?
  4. Enter the following details to create a New Password: Enrolment ID/Email Address, OTP, New Password, and Confirm New Password.

GATE 2020: Admit Card The GATE 2020 Admit card can be downloaded from January 2020 issued by the GATE 2020 organizing authority. The candidate can download GATE 2020 admit card using GOAPS Enrolment ID and password.   4. No result/rank will be sent through offline mode or any other mode

GATE 2020: Cut-off The GATE 2020 cut-off will be released after the GATE 2020 result will be announced. To get an overview, candidates can take an overview from the previous year cut-off’s as it does not vary with huge margin.
